M Spike, a Mystery to the Common Man

When a Doctor informs you that there is an M spike in blood, you may scratch your head hearing the medical term for the first time. Its a silent warning! M spike or M protein is the abnormal protein that doesn’t fight disease or infection. These abnormal plasma cells build up in the bone marrow, thickening the blood, thereby leading to complications such as Pancytopenia, lesions on the bones, bone fractures deteriorating the patient’s health slowly. A series of medical tests such as urine, complete blood count, bone marrow aspiration and biopsy including Serum Protein Electrophoresis are recommended as preliminary tests to confirm plasma cell neoplasms. If untreated, you put your beloved to suffer and die eventually.
