He let me win

Childhood friend was he,
A silent one who would let me win,
Either its carom or shuttle,
But never did he show some sign.

So I started noticing him,
Had a watchful eye on him,
Who remained silent for years,
Never did we talk about love.

Had no designs on him,
But his gestures were so clean,
Showed some signs of affection,
But nothing more than that.

Was unaffected till one day,
When he showed up tall and handsome,
Did I fall for his looks, gestures or both!
It’s a mystery for we are stuck forever.
